By Kevin Black in Local People

East Surrey District Scouts will hold their annual St George’s Day Parade in Oxted on Sunday, April 23.

There will be over 300 uniformed Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from all over East Surrey, with accompanying uniformed leaders.

The parade will start at 2pm at the Tandridge District Council offices, and will proceed up Station Road East into Bluehouse Lane, going on to Oxted School.

The roads affected will be:

1) Gresham Road and Snatts Hill into Station Road East

2) The crossroads of Chichele Road, Church Lane, and Station Road East (the mini roundabout)

3) Beatrice Road, Amy Road and Ellice Road (including the car park) into Station Road East.

The St George’s Day event gives all members, present and past, a chance to reflect on their Scout Promise and their connection to the wider Scout movement.
